The New Zealand Society of Oral Implantology (NZSOI) is a national professional organisation committed to advancing the science, practice, and understanding of oral implantology. Formed to unite dental professionals with a shared passion for excellence in implant dentistry, the Society serves as a trusted authority, resource hub, and collaborative network for clinicians across New Zealand.
Our mission is to promote excellence in patient care by supporting education, research, and professional development in all aspects of dental implantology. We believe that by fostering a culture of continuous learning, clinical integrity, and innovation, we can help ensure that patients receive treatment that is not only technically sound but also evidence-based and ethically delivered.
Objectives
Advance Clinical Standards – Encourage and support the highest standards of diagnosis, surgical placement, and prosthetic restoration in implant dentistry.
Promote Education – Provide training, workshops, and seminars to develop clinical skills, knowledge, and confidence for practitioners at all stages of their careers.
Support Research and Innovation – Facilitate scientific studies, encourage data sharing, and promote innovation in surgical techniques, materials, and technologies.
Foster Professional Collaboration – Create opportunities for clinicians to exchange ideas, discuss cases, and learn from peers in a supportive, collegial environment.

NZSOI welcomes a diverse membership of general dentists, dental hygienists, oral health therapists, technicians, and students who share an interest in implant dentistry.
